"Sustaining the Dream "- MLK Mini Album-See slideshow at end of page

I created a mini for MLK Day Celebration .  Simple ...no frills.  The Mini is MLK's  "I Have A Dream" Speech. I used Black A2 cards to create the mini....It's not quite finished........But I wanted to share ......I will post recipe later.....TFL....

This is how this mini came about....

I was planning to do a layout for the 2011 MLK Day.  I try to do one every year.  Well, after talking to my grandson ( he's 7 years old, 2nd grade) on the phone over the weekend  he told me that his class did a MLK project on the "I Have A Dream" Speech.  He said  the name of their project was "Sustaining the Dream" and they had to use the words in the speech, pick out some of the words and  tell what they meant to them today.....What great way to get a child to read this speech.....and relate it to their lives today.

Well, I googled the Speech  and started reading over it......I mean, I have memorized certain portions of it because I hear it so much....So after reading it ...I thought what clever way to not only capture the speech.....but capture the history.......

This mini album is my twist of what my grandson was tasked to do as a class assignment.  He was able to tell me so much about the speech that I did not think he would understand at such young age.  He made me smile.......
